Silver Mirror Test

The  most astonishing thing about chemistry is it's practical approach, one can support the theoretical structure of the reaction via experimental proofs. 

One such very beautiful reaction is Tollen’s reagent test or  silver mirror test which give confirmation for the aldehydes and distinguish them from other carbonyl compounds like ketone and acids. 
Ammonical silver nitrate solution is termed as Tollen’s reagent which in the basic medium reacts with Free H of aldehydes gp and gives beautiful Ag (Silver) deposit across the test tube.
